My Puerto Rico Trip Cost

We checked into Rosalina Ocean Park, a small hotel that cost us $185 per night ($740 total for our 4-night stay, including taxes). It has a pool that was basically the size of a large backyard. It wasn't fancy, but it was clean.

We walked from Rosalina Ocean Park straight down to Ocean Park Beach.

We walked to a nearby market and spent $30 on fruit, sandwich stuff, cereal, and water.

We walked over for dinner and spent about $40 for both of us. She ordered mofongo because she had no idea what it was, then ended up eating half of mine too.

We walked to the main road and took the local T5 public bus into Old San Juan ($1.50 for both of us). On the way, we stopped at Pila'o Bakery-Café for coffee, guava pastries, and a ham sandwich for $22.

We walked along Calle San Sebastián, the historic street famous for hosting the annual Fiestas de la Calle San Sebastián (SanSe).

We walked over to El Morro fort and spent about three hours inside. Admission was $10 total ($10 for adults, and kids under 15 enter free).

We walked over to the Museo de las Américas inside the historic Cuartel de Ballajá. $20 for both of us.

We walked over to Pirilo Pizza Rústica for dinner and spent $38 for both of us, including drinks and tip. After dinner, we hopped on a taxi ($15) back to Rosalina Ocean Park.

Our small group tour guide picked us up directly from Rosalina Ocean Park in a shared van ($125 for both of us).

We hiked the open Angelito Trail through the rainforest with our guide down to the natural river pools, stopped at Yokahú Observation Tower, and listened to native Puerto Rican parrots in the forest canopy.

The tour dropped us off at the famous Luquillo Kiosks where we grabbed alcapurrias, empanadillas, and fresh passion fruit juice from Kiosk #22 (La Parrilla) for $32.

We walked over to Luquillo Beach to rent two beach chairs and an umbrella ($35) and swam in the calm waters for a few hours.

We took a local taxi from Luquillo Beach back to Rosalina Ocean Park in San Juan ($80).

We booked a local taxi to pick us up early from Rosalina Ocean Park to ensure we reached the Ceiba Ferry Terminal with plenty of time to check in ($100 each way, $200 round-trip).

We arrived at the terminal to check in 60 minutes before departure using our passenger ferry tickets to Culebra, which we bought online weeks in advance ($9 total round-trip for two).

We took a shared passenger van taxi from the Culebra ferry terminal to Flamenco Beach ($20 total round-trip for both of us).

We walked onto the beach, found a spot under the trees, and stayed for hours. The beach itself was free.

We took the return ferry to Ceiba, met our return taxi driver, and made the drive back, arriving at Rosalina Ocean Park around 7:15 p.m.

Checked out of Rosalina Ocean Park, left our bags securely with the front desk, and took a quick taxi ($15) over to Escambrón Beach, where we joined a guided snorkeling trip with gear included ($70 for both of us).

We took a taxi ($12) to Distrito T-Mobile during their weekend Taste of Puerto Rico culinary showcase.

We took a quick taxi ($12) back to Rosalina Ocean Park to collect our stored luggage, then took a final taxi straight to Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport ($20). Including all small expenses, snacks, and tips, our total Puerto Rico trip cost came to $2,410 for both of us.
